Lunch at Fat Lady in Oakland near Jack London Square: fried zucchini, crab cake eggs benedict with a side of roasted red potatotes and some melon slices. Fat Lady has the best fried zucchini I've ever had in my whole entire almost freaking 30 year life. The zucc is thin and the batter is perfect. They cover the zucc with shredded parmesan cheese and give you a small dish of ranch dressing. Goodness, it just can't be beat! The crabcake benedict was alright--the hollandaise sauce was too lemony, which just kills the whole thing. Elios is better at Hollandaise. The potatoes were lovely, nicely herbed. Sorry, no pictures of this one. But seriously, if you're ever in the mood for sublime fried zucchini, try Fat lady!
